Rabbi's Welcome

B’ruchim Habaim!

WELCOME to Beth Ami Congregation, the “house of my people.”

In our Jewish “home,” it won’t take long for you to get to know your synagogue “family.” We are a sociable, caring, and active congregation. At our Friday night Oneg and Saturday morning Kiddush, friendships are nurtured. We celebrate weddings together, B’nai Mitzvah, and baby namings. In times of sadness, we are there for you.

As a House of Prayer, we observe Shabbat mornings with familiar renditions of prayers, Torah chanting, Haftarah readings (usually led by a congregant), and a brief Torah message to add quality to our lives that week. Congregants who desire to lead parts of the service are always welcomed.

On Friday nights, you can expect a more relaxed prayer experience. English readings and transliterations encourage non-Hebrew readers to sing and participate. As a Cantor for 18 years before becoming a Rabbi in 2004,1 love to hear my people sing! Once a month, I offer a crowd-pleasing musical Shabbat service with instrumental accompaniment.

I invite you to join Beth Ami and Catch Our Spirit at your new Jewish “home!”

B ‘shalom,
Rabbi Bertram U. Kieffer, D.D.

Congregation Welcome

Dear Friend,

Beautiful things are happening at Congregation Beth Ami in Boca Raton! Our
Conservative synagogue in the heart of Boca is bursting at the seams with new
and innovative programming and a flourisning contingent of new members.

If you seek to be part of a joyful, spiritual Jewish community, please JOIN US!

We invite you to CATCH OUR SPIRIT! Our members describe it best:

  • I was drawn to Beth Ami seeking a sense of community. I found welcoming members at my first Shabbat service, and I was hooked! Good people, warmth, and belonging—Beth Ami is my happy place!
  • Beth Ami is a small congregation where I can more deeply learn and understand Jewish morality, peoplehood, and values through conversation and quiet readings, enjoy a connection to the Jewish community as a part-time resident, establish friendships, and find encouragement from the Rabbi’s timely sermons.
  • The women [at the Women’s Friendship Circle] were so warm and welcoming that I knew I had found my spiritual home.
  • The synagogue does such creative programming. There’s so much to choose from.
  • Beth Ami feels like home—so gracious, so warm, so coring. The people couldn’t be nicer.

Experience the spirit of Beth Ami at our weekly worship services, adult education programs, and crowd-pleasing entertainment events. The only thing missing is YOU!

We look forward to welcoming you!

New Presidents Message

I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me as the next President of Beth Ami Congregation and honored to be following Dr. Dottie Pierce, I hope to make her proud. You have elected a strong team to represent this wonderful congregation and I am excited to start working with them in May. At the congregational meeting I shared my vision to sustain Beth Ami’s character of warmth, music and growth created through the labor of love demonstrated by Rabbi Kieffer and Rebbetzin Dianne. To do this we recognize the additional efforts needed in securing the financial future which can take on many facets. With your support, dedication, and spirit, we will meet these goals with strength and purpose. I ask that you please help me learn more about each member and all associated with Beth Ami. Please approach us, introduce yourselves and present any ideas and potential actions you can take to support our intent to continue to grow, inspire, and build a vibrant future for our community.
