Catch Our Spirit!
B’ruchim Habaim!
WELCOME to Beth Ami Congregation, the “house of my people.”
In our Jewish “home,” it won’t take long for you to get to know your synagogue “family.” We are a sociable, caring, and active congregation. At our Friday night Oneg and Saturday morning Kiddush, friendships are nurtured. We celebrate weddings together, B’nai Mitzvah, and baby namings. In times of sadness, we are there for you.
As a House of Prayer, we observe Shabbat mornings with familiar renditions of prayers, Torah chanting, Haftarah readings (usually led by a congregant), and a brief Torah message to add quality to our lives that week. Congregants who desire to lead parts of the service are always welcomed.
On Friday nights, you can expect a more relaxed prayer experience. English readings and transliterations encourage non-Hebrew readers to sing and participate. As a Cantor for 18 years before becoming a Rabbi in 2004,1 love to hear my people sing! Once a month, I offer a crowd-pleasing musical Shabbat service with instrumental accompaniment.
I invite you to join Beth Ami and Catch Our Spirit at your new Jewish “home!”
B ‘shalom,
Rabbi Bertram U. Kieffer, D.D.
